Ardvasar Hotel, Sleat: A lovely ambience for lunch or supper.

Crofter’s Kitchen, Kyleakin: Quick service. Freshly cooked. Lunch best option.

Skeabost Hotel (near Portree): Superb cuisine for lunch or supper. You will need to book in peak season. The buffet lunches are famous throughout the Island.

Beinn na Caillich Restaurant, Broadford: Excellent meals any time of the day. In walking distance.

Kinloch Lodge Hotel, Sleat: Armadale road. Owned by Lord and Lady Macdonald. It is about five miles from Broadford - all we need to say is that Lady Macdonald is a cook with a national reputation - make a special night of it and book beforehand.

The Claymore Restaurant, Broadford: Well cooked wholesome food at any time of the day.

Floddigary Hotel, Duntulm: Some say the best on the Island in terms of position, food and ambience. We go there for special occasions.

The Stables, Armadale Castle: Our favourite for afternoon tea but excellent at other times.

Toravaig House Hotel, Sleat: Lovely surroundings, excellent cuisine.

MacKinnon Country House Hotel, Kyleakin: Great welcome. Excellent venue for an evening out.
