This famous castle stands in a dramatic setting and is the seat of Clan MacRae. Behind it in the far distance is Skye. It is often depicted on Scottish calendars and in photographic books on The Highlands. There are conducted tours and if you are looking for an exotic place to tie the knot; look no further! Adjacent to the castle are the shop and tearoom,  both worth patronising. Dornie can be reached from the castle car park by an underpass; avoiding the main road. You should visit this pretty lochside village. Nearby is Carr Brae which used to be part of the main road to Inverness. The views from the top are quite staggering.
