Take the road from Broadford and turn off at the Veterinary surgery. It was once a flourishing herring port but is now host to a salmon farm - it has a very Nordic look to it. It is about 7 miles (10 km).

Its hard to believe now but in its hey day the fishery was so active that it was possible to walk across Loch Eishort on the herring boats.

The views from the Heaste road - in both directions - are some of the finest in Skye.
